This program provides funding to help preserve and strengthen unique First Nations and Inuit cultures, traditions and languages.

The 2024 to 2025 call for proposals to support activities under the First Nations and Inuit Cultural Education Centres Program is now open. The deadline to submit a proposal is May 6, 2024 at 11:59 pm, Eastern time.

About the program

This program supports First Nations and Inuit communities in expressing, preserving, developing, revitalizing and promoting their culture, language and heritage, through the creation and operation of First Nations and Inuit cultural education centres.

The program also helps make relevant cultural programming and services available to First Nations and Inuit students.

Who can apply

First Nations and Inuit cultural education centres, member centres supported under the First Nations Confederacy of Cultural Education Centres, and the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami.

Inuit cultural education centres and the Inuit Tapirrit Kanatami may also be eligible to apply for the Inuit Cultural Education Centres Grant Program.

Deadline

The deadline to submit proposals is May 6, 2024.

How to apply

Applicants must submit a detailed proposal clearly indicating how the proposed project will meet the goals of the program and respond to educational and community needs.

The level of funding for successful proposals is determined on a case-by-case basis. It depends on the number of proposals submitted and total funding available.

ISC reviews and approves proposals. The First Nations Confederacy of Cultural Education Centres reviews and approves proposals for recipient centres they fund.

Please follow the instructions in the First Nations and Inuit Cultural Education Centres Program: National Program Guideline 2024 to 2025.

Only electronic forms are accepted. If you have access to the ISC Services Portal you can get the electronic form by opening a session on the portal. If you do not have access to the portal, contact your ISC regional office to get access to the portal.

All proposals will be assessed by these criteria.
