Project tracker

Projected lift date: July 2024

Home to approximately 300 people on reserve, Star Blanket Cree Nation in Saskatchewan has completed repairs to its water infrastructure with funding from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC).

There is 1 long-term drinking water advisory:

  • a boil water advisory on the Star Blanket Public Water System was set in January 2007 and became long-term in January 2008

The advisory affects approximately 82 homes and community buildings such as the band office, health care facility and Early Learning Centre.

Repairs to the water treatment system have been completed. The community is working to address operational issues before being in a position to lift the drinking water advisory.

Construction of upgrades needed to meet the long-term needs of the community is now underway.
