North Spirit Lake
Equipment upgrades and repairs completed, operational improvements in process
Projected lift date: TBD
North Spirit Lake in Ontario is home to 430 people on reserve. The community, with funding support from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), is repairing and upgrading its water system and making operational improvements to meet current and future clean drinking water needs.
There is 1 long-term drinking water advisory affecting 90 homes and 5 community buildings:
- a boil water advisory for the North Spirit Lake Public Water System was set in April 2019 and became long-term in April 2020
Equipment upgrades and repairs have been completed. Operational improvements are ongoing and, when complete, the community should be in a position to lift the long-term drinking water advisory.
North Spirit Lake receives operational support from the Centralized Water and Wastewater Hub, funded by ISC and delivered by the Keewaytinook Okimakanak Tribal Council.
