This award is divided in three prizes: First, $3,000; second, $1,500; and third, $500. The prizes are awarded annually in recognition of outstanding achievement by undergraduate students for written work on preservation of Aboriginal and treaty rights. Applicants must present original work properly documented and formatted. Original essays formally submitted for course work from any undergraduate program are eligible for submission. Applicants must be able to demonstrate commitment to Aboriginal rights, a history of advocacy for Aboriginal people, and contribution to community, law, politics, or government as they pertain to Aboriginal people. Students are only eligible to receive this award once within an AU undergraduate program.
