This scholarship was established for the benefit of students at Menno Simons College in honour and memory of Elizabeth Buckland. Elizabeth passed away in 2014 and was a person of deep faith who took seriously the Christian call to work for justice. She recognized the particular challenges faced by Indigenous people and new Canadians, and saw the potential of education to overcome this challenge. This scholarship will be awarded to students with a declared major in Conflict and Resolution Studies. Recipients must have completed Introduction to International Development Studies or Introduction to Conflict Resolution Studies with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Preference will be given to Indigenous and new Canadian students.
