Due to the application deadline, students may be enrolled in courses but will not have received final marks. If the student falls below the required Undergraduate Grade Point Average (UGPA) of 70% after the completion of the registered courses, the bursary will be revoked. 3. The bursary must be accepted for the semester(s) offered. Successful candidates who choose not to attend in the semester for which a bursary is offered may re-apply for a subsequent competition and will be considered in competition with new applicants. In addition, if a recipient does not continue schooling, attains a UGPA below the minimum requirement or does not register in the credit hours required to hold the scholarship, the recipient would either not receive their first or second installment or have to reimburse the University if the award was already received. In this case, an alternate recipient will receive the award. 4. Students who are granted deferrals or medical or compassionate withdrawal by their faculty or college are not required to repay the bursary for that semester. Students who receive deferrals in the Fall semester must be registered for the minimum 12 credit hours in the Winter semester in order to receive the second installment of the bursary. Students who do not receive the second installment of the bursary because of course deferrals or medical or compassionate withdrawal may still receive priority consideration for the next year’s competition. 5. Students who were recipients in the previous academic year may reapply for the bursary, and will receive priority, provided that they have achieved a UGPA of 70% or higher, and that they establish continuing financial need as required on the application. Students who were recipients in the previous academic year, but who did not receive the second installment because of medical or compassionate withdrawal or course deferrals, will also receive priority. Previous recipients from more than one year ago will be considered equally in the competition with new applicants. 6. Equal weighting will be given to financial need and experience in the areas of leadership, management, and/or community service, career goals, and potential to contribute to the Province of Saskatchewan.
