Service update applications for Indian Status

Effective February 1, 2026, the Edmonton Registration Office will move from a same-day, in-person application processing to an in-person application drop-off, intake-only service model for applications for Indian status.

Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS) card services are not affected by this change.

Appointments must be booked through our online booking tool. This is the fastest and easiest way to book an appointment at the Edmonton office.

If no appointments are available online, or you need help with other services, call the Edmonton office for support, cancellations, or rescheduling. Walk-ins may be accepted but are not guaranteed.
